We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community through the Cincinnati Computer Reuse (CCR) formerly Cincinnati Computer Cooperative. This organization provides low-cost computers and training to low-income families, students, seniors, and non-profits in the Greater Cincinnati area. We are not only showing our commitment to environmental sustainability by donating our used computers and equipment to CCR—we are also empowering people with the tools and skills they need to succeed in the digital age. Xavier University has a long history of supporting the Cooperative, dating—at least—back to 2008, when we became one of their first major donors. Since then, we have donated over 1,000 computers and laptops, as well as monitors, keyboards, mice, printers and other accessories. All these donations have helped the nonprofit serve more than 25,000 individuals and 500 organizations in the past 15 years. The Cincinnati Computer Reuse’s mission aligns with Xavier’s own Jesuit values, which motivate us to be and to develop men and women for and with others, and to strive for a more just and humane world. We are proud to partner with them and to witness the positive impact they have on our community. We hope to continue this relationship for many years to come, and to inspire others to join us in this noble cause.
